Portraits of apprentice Linkers

Four talents, four careers, the same objective: to learn and develop. Meet Sarah, Valentine, Mamadou, and Duncan, interns at IT Link.

Introduce yourself

Mamadou: Hello, my name is Mamadou, I am 21 years old and I am an alternating business engineer in the public transport department.

Duncan: My name is Duncan and like Mamadou, I am an apprentice business engineer in the automotive division.

Valentine: My name is Valentine, I am 23 years old and I am an apprentice recruitment officer.

Sarah: I am Sarah, I am 25 years old and I am an apprentice in charge of communication and events.

Why did you choose work-study programs for your studies?

Valentine: I chose work-study to concretely apply what I saw in class.

Duncan: And for me, to gain experience while being immersed in the professional world.

Mamadou: For my part, the goal was to be able to combine theory and practice in addition to being able to be paid.

Tell us about your first day at IT Link

Mamadou: I was very well received. I started at the same time as a colleague on a permanent contract, so it facilitated my integration.

Valentine: Like Mamadou, I arrived on the same day as a colleague on a permanent contract, which reassured me. Our manager introduced us to everyone and we shared lunch together.

Duncan: Same, I felt comfortable right from the start.

Sarah: I was also welcomed warmly. Each manager introduced me to their division, which allowed me to better understand the organization of IT Link.

What surprised you the most about IT Link?

Duncan: What impressed me the most about IT Link was the great trust that is placed in apprentices. We have been given great responsibilities from the start. It's what I find most motivating for all of us.

Valentine: Like Duncan, I quickly had important missions. A month after my arrival, I was given the internship recruitment campaign.

Sarah: Joining Duncan and Valentine. This confidence impressed me. I proposed ideas that for the most part were taken into account. I find it rewarding, because as a work-study student, you are not always considered at your fair value.

A word to summarize your apprenticeship?

Valentine: I would say challenging.

Sarah: Enriching.

Mamadou: Opportunities.

Duncan: Stimulating.
