Introduce yourself:

My name is Théo, I have been working at IT Link for almost 4 years and I am responsible for a rail signalling service center.

What is your background?

I have always been passionate about the world of transport. After leaving engineering school, I joined a project in railway signalling, a field that I did not know at the time, but on which I was trained, in particular in the verification of execution diagrams. These are diagrams that are directly used by the teams working in the field and that will describe the technology that is being put in place. In its diagrams, we find the equipment to be installed, the layout, the wiring, the power supply. This is a very comprehensive field that quickly interested and motivated me.

Two years after joining our client, I participated in the creation of a service center, for which I am now responsible.

What does the job of service center manager consist of?

When the client entrusts us with a project, I first take care of the costing and the planning, while checking that we have all the data we need to work. After that, I assign this project to a person on my team and I monitor the progress.

At the same time, I also act as technical support for my teams and I lead convergence meetings between my verification team and the company in charge of producing the diagrams. Finally, when the workload is higher, I continue to check.

What do you like the most about your job?

What I like the most today is to have a global vision of the projects I work on, with on the one hand the financial aspect and the planning aspect, while keeping a foot in the technique. This is a need that is important for me, because it allows me to understand the project as a whole and to contribute to its success.

Your passion in life?

I am someone who does a lot of sports, because I love it, especially racket sports.

I played tennis for 15 years, but in recent years, I have turned to badminton because I really like it. I do it several times a week and this year, my aim is to start competing.
