My name is Jordan, I am 30 years old and I am a design engineer in the web team of the design office located in Rennes

What is your background?

After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Computer Systems and Software in Martinique, I went for a master's degree in software engineering applications to environmental data, obtained at the University of Western Brittany.

It was also during this master's degree that I had the opportunity to do an internship at IT Link. Since then, I have not left the company and have now been a Linker for three years!

What does the job of Design Engineer consist of?

The job of design engineer is divided into three main areas.

First, there is analysis and research when receiving a specification provided by a customer. Specified needs must be clearly identified in order to identify the best approaches to implement solutions.

Then, we have the design and development of the solutions reported during the analysis phases.

Finally, there are tests and validation to ensure that the solutions implemented comply with pre-established requirements.

What do you like the most about your job?

As a design engineer, we can think of ourselves as being at the forefront. I like the idea of being among the first to be able to offer solutions to meet customer needs. It is thus possible, to a certain extent, to be able to offer innovative and efficient solutions due to being up to date on technological advances and trends in the sector.

Your passion in life?

I am a fan of physical and sports activities of all kinds. But my real passion remains soccer, which I play with our colleagues during certain lunch breaks.
